Premier’s public discussions vital for national consensus, says GCAO Minister Negeri Lencho

ADDIS ABABA — Government Communication Affairs Office (GCAO) has underlined that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has been undertaking fruitful discussions and consultation with various parts of society to consolidate peace, prosperity and unity. 

In his press briefing held yesterday, GCAO Minister Negeri Lencho (PhD) said that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed will hold discussion with more than 25,000 citizens in Millennium Hall on 15 April 2018.
He added that the Premier has been undertaking various discussions and consolations with public since he took power and the Sunday’s discussion would be part of it.
Negeri pointed out that as part of his efforts; Prime Minister had paid visit to Jigjiga, Ambo and Mekelle and conferred with the people on political, economic and social issues.
Besides, the discussion he held with opposition parties, civic societies and celebrities at National Palace recently has been fruitful, according to him.
Admitting that infant democracy, abject poverty, corruption, mismanagement, and other malpractices have caused the political unrest that broke out in recent years; he called for Ethiopians to work together to develop democratization, to alleviate corruption and to safeguard rule and order so as to ensure economic equitability and political inclusiveness.
Negeri has urged Media outlets and professionals to play their part in ensuring peace and stability, economic development and democratization process of their country.
